So with that, one of my first challenges is to take the next 21 days and commit myself to discovering a deeper spiritual connection. What does that have to do with giving up coffee? Well in order to be more in tune with one's spirit, one must learn to quiet the desires of the flesh. My biggest addiction is coffee, so that's where I'm going to start .
As most of you already know, there's an oil for just about anything, and "I-haven't-had-any-coffee-so-I'm-super-grumpy-itis" is no exception. To help myself (and my poor husband) get through these next 3 weeks, I will be following Gary Young's Have a Great Day, Everyday Protocol. This protocol can be found on page 11 of Vicky Opfer's Heart Centered Sharing Document, which (by the way) is an excellent read for anyone that would like to know more about Young Living essential oils.
As you follow the protocol, try to do it first thing in the morning right when you wake up. It may be helpful to have the oils ready on your nightstand.
Step 1: Valor
Apply a drop to the palm of the left hand. Gently rub your hands together and cup your hands over your nose and mouth. As you inhale be sure to set your intentions for the day. You may also place a drop to the left wrist and hold the wrists together for a moment, and again, stating your positive affirmations in your mind.
Step 2: Harmony
Apply a single drop over the solar plexus, which is just above the belly button. As you do this you may state an intention in your mind to harmonize and align to the greater good and with all of the people you will connect with today.
Step 3: Joy
As you apply a single drop over your heart, think about the intentions of healing a broken heart or perhaps opening your heart to feelings of forgiveness and acceptance.
Step 4: White Angelica
I love this oil for it's ability to protect me from negative energies and thoughts. Place a drop onto the palm of your hands and gently rub together. Next, gently brush your hands over your head, face, and down the shoulders, the torso, and the rest of the body all the way to the ground. You may close your eyes as you are doing this and imagine as though you are creating an angelic shield around yourself. Again, think about your intentions for the day and imagine a protective shield that no one can break through.
That's it! Let's see how it goes. Today is day two of no coffee, and day one of the protocol. So far I feel good. I will be keeping you all posted with my progress. If you would like to do this challenge with me, let me know! Let's hold each other accountable and offer a system of support. I look forward to hearing your stories!
